Mt. Rainier in July

A week ago I had the opportunity to visit the Sunrise area of Mt. Rainier National Park. Many of the early flowers were blooming—the avalanche lilies are always first and they were already past their peak, but the next group was beginning—scarlet paintbrush, phlox, valerian, penstemon and beargrass.
